Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500 mL) crushed Ontario Strawberries, fresh or frozen (about 1 qt/1 L whole)
  • 3 cups (750 mL) sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice
  • 1/2 bottle liquid pectin
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla

 

Directions

  1. Combine berries, sugar and lemon juice in 4 qt (4 L) microwave-safe bowl. Cook at High 10 to 12 minutes or until mixture reaches a full rolling boil. Cook 1 minute more. Add pectin and stir for 1 minute. Skim off any foam. Stir in vanilla.
  2. Pour jam into sterilized jars; seal, cool and label. Store in a cool, dark place.
